Best thing is the staff (from reception to restaurant) that has to compensate for fairly poor facilities. 1. Gym and pool are really dated2. Restaurant in the evening is soulless. The salmon starter was below expectation for a restaurant standard whilst the main (I had hake) was delicious. Athmosphere at the bar is better. 3. Bed was comfy, but rather than being a double mattress I was given two single mattresses joined together. You can feel it in the night. On the positive note, rooms are big and amazing sea view. For the price bracket, there are hotel better equipped in the same area. I would not recommend this one.

One of the worst hotel experiences I've ever had. My room was tiny and super ugly, I couldn't spend there 2 nights so I requested a change and got a larger one, with a nice view. The location of this hotel is marvellous - just at the beach, couldn't be better! But the hotel is in such a bad state - decayed, smelly, probably not renovated since decades!On both my nights they had the Christmas parties, so restaurants were closed. The reception was so busy that I couldn't order room service. I was offered food in the bar - which was so crowded that I would have to queue for my meal for a long time! And I was told by the manager that I could have made a reservation in advance to secure a space... The only thing that I can't complain about is the view from my window - right on the beach!!!
We recently had our wedding reception at the Sandbanks hotel. It was the most perfect day. The ballroom and scenery from the hotel were beautiful and the staff friendly and approachable. The only exception, was that we missed the opportunity, to eat the finger food and our wishes were not handed over to the evening staff. However, these were only minor issues and did not spoil our special day. We would recommend this venue to other couples looking for a beach wedding.
