Amazing food, so fresh and so tasty ! Love it thank you
I have never been treated so disgustingly as I just have been by the owner of Lights of India. Placed the order over the phone, tandoori chicken, a poppadom and some plain rice with peas. When I got home I realised that the chef had added onions to the rice as well as the peas, so I got back on the phone to let them know that the order was wrong. They agreed to redo the order and I asked for it to be delivered, and after a few minutes of heated discussion, they agreed. A couple of minutes later the phone rang and they said that they were not going to be delivering the rice after all, so off I go again to pick up the correct rice. When I got to the shop, I returned the incorrect rice, which he proceeded to place back into the warming cabinet, at that point I decided to ask for a refund as my order was wrong and because of the way I was spoken to over the phone, and the fact that the rice which was returned was placed in the cabinet ready to go out to another customer. The man who served me was very aggressive when I asked and he said that it was my fault the order was incorrect. He was practically shouting at me and my daughter and told us that it was all our fault and that if you add something to plain rice then of course he's going to add onion!!! Problem being that we asked for peas ! He also made some racist comments about "you people" and that we were treating him like a "slave". This upset me greatly, as at no point in the discussion did we say anything remotely like that, all we asked for, as a gesture of goodwill was a refund on the rice. He then continued to be aggressive saying that we were at fault and that he was not prepared to accept the fact that they made the incorrect order. He was very very rude and has no concept of customer service or even able to talk to us in a calm and reasonable manner. To say that I am very disappointed would be an understatement, we have been using this take away for over twenty years and because of one mistake and the owners inability to resolve this issue, never again! I suggest that others do the same.
owner" shouted and blamed poor customer service on me, I asked for plain boiled rice with an add of peas, charged me for pea rice which comes with spice and onion. WHICH is NOT what I asked for I simply wanted PLAIN boiled rice WITH peas. Now, I wouldn't usually kick up a fuss about an order being wrong, however, the owner shouted continuously at myself and my mother and then continued to shout that we had called him a salve for asking him to simply refund the mistake rice for us. Once handing back the incorrect rice he then went to put it in his warm cupboard where he keeps all the food going out for delivery or collection, this seemed like an action of habit which makes me wonder how much returned food people are eating, absolutely disgusting and completely unsanitary. I would and will not EVER order from Lights of India again!!
