Fun place to learn about the history of Brown sea isle, and all the people that lived and made the isle a unique spot in the south west coast of England. And if you are luck catch a glimpse of a red squirrel with her young.
Lovely helpful volunteers especially Geof on Thursdays. Come and see me!
Brownsea Island is a magical place, it feels like an adventure every time you go there. The beach along the south is an idyllic place to sit and watch the sea, and the scout camp on the western corner is famous. If you are lucky you can spot an elusive red squirrel, but it is more likely that a peacock will be after your sandwiches! More seriously wildlife-wise, the lagoon on the north of the island has a huge variety of birds and there are some really good places to spot and photograph them, head to the Dorset Wildlife Trust visitor centre for more information!
